Some days ago, someone posted a message that Collisions have been found in SHA0 hash. If I had stumbled across this headline a couple of weeks ago, I wouldnt have found it interesting enough to click on the actual link. But, with my new interest in cryptography, I find this not only interesting but exciting. They have also managed to get collisions in MD5. Oh Shit!

Well, detection of collisions is not shocking. Everyone knows that hashes will have collisions. But if you have an algorithm that can generate a key with same hash then you have a problem.

This is definitely a good news for Eve. And Alice and Bob should be worried and start looking for a better hash function. If you dont understand why, you need to know who Alice, Bob and Eve are.
