Some Random Thoughts..
Just a place to put some random thoughts..

Hi,

Friday, 23rd February 2007 will be remembered by most of you as a very normal day. Day started. Day Ended. Nothing special at all. But for me it marked the end of a long relationship. I lost a loyal companion who was there for me in good times and bad, who helped me in my decisions, who was with me when I left the comforts of my hometown to go to an alien world called Bangalore (now Bangaluru) and then to a fantasy place called Hyderabad. We saw masterpieces like Rang De Basanti, Munnabhai (both parts) etc. together. And together we were lost in the darkness of the theatres and frustration while watching crap like Constantine and Le Divorce.

Every morning his soothing presence next to me gave me courage to go out in the big bad world and face the wolves. Every night it gave a hope that next day would be better. Whenever I was drowned in the darkness, I could count on his help. It showed me the right path and helped me walk it.

We gambled together. He was good at it, especially BlackJack. He was also good at maths, conversion from USD to INR and things like that. And above all, just like me, he was a HUGE fan of cricket. I will definitely miss the times when we used to follow cricket matches together.

He was fair with blue eyes. He was thin but strong. He had an air of maturity around him. He knew his limits and knew them well. He was modest and down to earth. He never tried to impress anyone and by doing it, managed to impress me. He was not particularly good looking but definitely not ugly. Some laughed at his old fashioned looks and ways. But it bothered him (or me) none. He kept the promise without promising anything and that alone sets him apart. He always gave his 100% without asking for anything in return.

On that dreaded day, I was going through a tough time and wanted to take out my frustration on someone. As usual, he was there with me. He was an easy target and all my frustration poured down on him like acid rain. It was an instant, ugly and tragic death. His death calmed me down and that was the last good thing he could do for me. The battery was out of the socket, the antenna was broken from the main body and lying in pieces. I just could not believe that I could do that to my cell phone which had served me so loyally for last three and a half, four years. In times, when people change their cell phones practically every month, I never felt a need for parting the ways for a minute. True, I am planning to buy an iPhone in the future. But that is just a thought and may not happen at all.

All I want to say is sorry for all the bad things that happened to it because of me and Thank you for all the good things that came my way because of it.

Life goes on and I have already replaced it with a new phone. But nothing will come close to it, not even the iPhone!

This is a tribute to the best cell phone the world has ever seen or will even see. It is a tribute to my LG 2030!

Yours Sincerely,
Hi,
Today I came across an interesting . I had solved the "adaptive" version of the same puzzle but this one has that nice "non-adaptive" twist. I must admit that I struggled for couple of hours to get this right. But when I got it it felt realllllly good! :)

Here's one of the solution (I believe, for some reason, that there are many possible solutions):
Coins are numbered from 1 to 12.

1) Weigh 6,5,7,11 with 8, 9, 10, 12
2) Weigh 2,3,4,8 with 9, 10, 11, 12
3) Weigh 3,6,8,10 with 1,4,7, 9

n H : nth coin is heavier than others.
n L : nth coin is lighter than others.

I have rechecked it but if you are interested, check it again and drop a note if there's something wrong.

Yours Sincerely,
A Tribute
